Robby: It depends on how wound up he gets when he tells is. . .
John: I had an uncle named Hank and uh, he was a mud marine in uh, in the Pacific during the second world war. He was on like the Guatama canal and all that. . .now you younger ladies in the audience probably don't know about that cuz:
(here Rzeznik breaks into an older man's voice)
“You're punks and you're WWII! You got no sense of history! You don't know man, these men they went out and fought in the mud for your freedom so people can walk around looking like freaks like you, you hippies! You and Jane Fonda!”

John: I spent a lot of time drinking cheap beer in VFW posts. You know, you wanna see something wild, go to the VFW post --
Guy: Oh, I've been!
John: Fifty cent draft and a lot of good stories.
Guy: They're little. I swear to god, I went there once for karaoke night -
John: Oh yeah. . .
Guy: And --
Cuts off and breaks back into Uncle Hank. . .
John: So my Uncle Hank, it was the Fourth of July and we're having a big picnic at their place, at his house and uh, there were these pink shutters on the house. . .and he, somebody left the cork off the jug and he got in it. And usually he was a really mellow guy, he said, but he used to smoke those Camels without the filters, so everything he said, before he said it, he went like this *spitting noise I believe* He did the little spit to get the thing out and ya know, and uh so he got loaded and then uh. . .he went outside and ripped all the shutters off the house and carried them into the house --
Robby: And he carried them into the middle of their party. . .
John: Carried them into the middle of the kitchen, kicked the kitchen table over to the side and jumped up and down on `em and said, “I hate these pink shutters.” That's my big, that's what they didn't tell you on VH1. . .but no actually he didn't say, “I hate these pink shutters,” he said *extremely slurred* “I hate these pink shutters!”
