Ya Never Know was originally titled West Side until the 'ol Robster decided to take the chorus out. It is about a group of people from the West side of Buffalo that he fell into with that were nothing but trouble. He got out of that real quick. |
Smash is about an old friend of Robby's who he seen in Buffalo before writing on the record and her husband was a guy who drank too much and 'smashed' her around. He seen her and her kid one day and that seemed to bring out the light in her eyes. So when he got back on the plane, he just jotted the song down. Gives new meaning to the lyrics, "Everytime I see you torturing yourself, I love. . .I love when things work out." |
Tucked Away is about the "same relationship," he'd been, "bitchin' about through the record." The girl's mom had called him on the phone to try to guilt trip him back into a situation that he was not supposed to be in. It was a conversation that "spawned a bunch of rhymes." |
He writes out all the setlists for the tour, so if ya want more Robby, tell him to put some more of his songs in there. So Robby, if you're reading this I would like to make a request. . .SLAVE GIRL and HEY!! |
