My first Goo concert, and what an experience.  It was in May and was my 17th birthday present.  Hmm. . .my birthday is in May, I am MandyMay, and the chick in "Slide," just happens to be May; coincidence?  I think not.  *evil grin*

It was standing room at the Louisville Gardens, and let me begin by saying that this was, what I like to consider my first concert experience.  Even though technically, it was my second.  My first was David Lee Murphy and Joe Diffie, country artists for those of you who don't know, but Goo was much, much different.  So me, my sis, and my friend Melissa get there and are totally unaware of how wild these things get.

We sit through Frog Pond and Fastball, then that crazy sound comes on and the drums, then Rzeznik comes out in a white cowboy hat and Robby in this metallicy green shirt and start jamming to "Dizzy."  Which, me and my sis knew.  Here's the thing, we only knew the songs from the "Dizzy Up the Girl," album.  That was it.  Didn't even know "Name," but I mean come on, at that point in time we were listening to David Lee Murphy and Joe Diffie.  My bad.

I was a bit uncomfortable through most of it because I didn't know the words and everyone else around me was totally rocking.  I didn't scream or throw my hands up, or jump up and down.  I was a stick in the mud, to be honest, I didn't know how to act.  But the people around us were crazy!!  Body surfing every time you turned around, which I had a bump in the back of the head from a boot to prove it the next day.  Then, if you don't believe my bump, my sis had a pair of broken glasses.

So anyway, we were in front, but kinda got pushed out of the way when Goo came out and towards the end, I had to go sit down because I was feeling a bit woozey.  So, we get us something to drink, sit down, and by then I am feeling re-energized and we jam to the last two songs, "Iris," and "Hate This Place."  Which of course, we knew.

All and all, it was a GOO-d first Goo experience.  But the second, time we were much more prepared. . .and knew the words.  *grin*
